DWCC

District Wide Royal Ranger's Ministry Conference

Gentlemen & Ladies,  here is the information I promised concerning the DWCC.  Please notice that the deadline date for pre-registration is not the same as on the calendar.  The pre-registration discount will be awarded to April 1st.  This gives you a couple weeks to get your registrations back and gives us a week to count heads and plan for the meals appropriately.  Notice that I have also attached commanders awards forms to the email and they will be posted on the web site as well.  Please get these forms to your commanders and fill them out yourself then return them to me ASAP (With your registration will be fine).  I still have more information I am assembling but this should be all you’ll need for the time being.  I will get directions to you in the next day or two.  I just didn’t have time tonight to get that done but promised this packet by Monday morning.  So,  here’s the important stuff you need to know now.

By Jay M. Woodward

April 10 was the date that NNED Royal Rangers held its annual District Wide Commanders’ Conference and Banquet (DWCC) , an event that brings together the District’s most dedicated leaders and their spouses for a time of fellowship, instruction, worship, and of course, a great dinner banquet followed by awards! This was the fourth year in a row that the event was held at the Curtis Lake Church in Sanford, Maine, which has proven to be a great venue to hold Ranger events over the last several years. On Saturday morning, Commander Jerry gave his opening remarks to kick off the Conference, and lended encouragement to the leaders of the District who were in attendance. He was also sporting the new Utility Uniform that is now being made available for boys and leaders, and looked quite stylish wearing it! He commented, “quote”

District Wide Commanders’ Conference 2009 - A World Class Event

By Commander Jay M. Woodward

On April 3-4, Northern New England Royal Rangers held the Annual District Wide Commanders’ Conference and Banquet at Curtis Lake Christian Church in Sanford, Maine. Leaders from all across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont gathered together for a wonderful time of training and fellowship, and much more. Indeed, it is a time for leaders to really get to spend quality time together and interact in a way not readily available to them at other District events, and to be recognized for their contributions to the Rangers ministry!

The World Class Outpost Seminar

What made this year’s Conference so special was the World Class Outpost (WCO), a two-day National Training Event that, according to the National Royal Rangers office, is “designed to expose the outpost leadership team to a successful set of practices, methods, strategies, and tools that will enable them to develop into a "World Class Outpost". This was the first time the WCO seminar had ever been brought to NNED. As District Training Coordinator Jason Wright commented, “While the WCO Seminar training was ‘completed’ that weekend, the WCO process is far from over. In fact, it is really only the beginning; the real (and difficult) work starts back at the Outpost level, and hopefully the Seminar graduates have understood that! I am anxious to see the future of NNED in the years to come when our already terrific outposts make the journey toward ‘World Class’ results and successes! As a Senior Commander myself, I am particularly anxious to get started with re-evaluating everything we do using the WCO tools and methods. ”

District Wide Commander’s Conference 2008 - Reaching the iPod Generation

By Jay M. Woodward - Pony Express Editor

On March 28th and29th, NNED Royal Rangers held the Fourth Annual District Wide Commander’s Conference and Banquet at the Curtis Lake Christian Church in Sanford, Maine. A combined total of 67 Commanders and their spouses from around the District gathered for this time of fellowship, sharing and learning. The theme of this year’s Conference was “Reaching the iPod Generation”; that is, making Rangers more interactive and attractive for the current generation of boys. Indeed, the Conference is truly an interactive experience unto itself, as leaders get to meet face-to-face and interact with the District Staff. District Commander Jerry Love explained DWCC this way: “It’s the one time each year that leaders from around our District get to spend time together, where the District Staff gets an opportunity to build relationships with the men in the trenches, and we have the opportunity to give honor where honor is due”.
