FCF Trek/Trace

Greetings Brothers,

I wanted to let you know about the upcoming events happening in the King's Pine Chapter. I know that trying for an open weekend and with fuel costs it is not easy, but let us make the most of the opportunity that your staff has made.
First is the Chapter Trace which IS ALTERED FROM THE POSTED DATES, IT NOW INCLUDES THURSDAY Night for those available. Friday is open to crafts, skills and such. Friday night we will have our business meeting starting @7:30. Saturday morning we will have our Scout competition and a Blanket Shoot (for Young Bucks and new members this is a great way to get new gear).

Now the real news: an FCF Trek. A trek is a primitive voyage into the past, only things of the old will pass. This means your clothes, tools and gear must ALL BE period correct with certain noted exception. ONLY THESE EXCEPTIONS WILL BE PERMITTED! There are three: first your Bible does not need to be period correct, secondly because of the rough terrain boots are permissible as a substitute to prevent injury, and lastly bug repellent (in a primitive container)as few if any have bear grease. Please note you will have to bring gear to sustain yourself and possibly others, in other words safety will be observed. For Example,You are required to bring water in a primitive container. You do not have to have a knife and a hawk, but you do need one or the other. If you have a question as to whether you have the required gear or have a question as to how or where to acquire the gear, please consult with the FCF staff before the event as we would hate to leave someone behind. For those not wishing to make the Trek we will have some who will stay at the base camp as well. You must be “Ready” to cook whatever food you get based upon your “Skills”, the better skilled, the better the food. This will be decided before we embark, therefore you must also plan to bring suitable carrying methods for your food.

Fees:

Trace $15.00 includes two patches
Trek $15.00 Includes two patches and food for Trek(only Trek)

Also a blanket shoot is where all in the competition bring an item to be put on the blanket. Then everyone shoots and the best score picks the item he wants to be followed until all have received something. The value should not exceed $10.00.

This event will be held at the Pemi Gun Club in Holderness, NH, at our Primitive site. See Staff for more info or forms.
