Welcome...

As the birthplace of our great Nation, our Region is rich in history and tradition. Likewise, the eight Districts that make up our Region have played an important role in the development of the Royal Rangers ministry. Our District Commanders and their staffs and the Regional Staff are excited about the future of Royal Rangers and our goal to reach, teach and keep boys for Christ! We want this website to be an additional resource to you. Please contact us if we can assist you in any way.

Perry Siddle

August 13, 2008

Hello, everyone. Here is some more good news concerning Perry.

Yesterday he was sent home! He has responded well thus far to the seven-day chemo treatment he received. He will have a week off and then another week of chemo, outpatient.

Perry is a walking miracle but is still in need of our earnest prayers—that the cancer in his stomach would be eliminated and that his liver would be completely healed. Also, pray for Perry's overall strength and wellbeing.

Thank you, everyone, for your prayers and expressions of love. Over 100 birthday cards were received in response to our email inviting your participation. During the 10 days Perry's life rested in the balance, he described hearing thousands of prayers being offered in unison on his behalf! God is answering our prayers.

Please continue to storm heaven on Perry's behalf, and trust the Healer for his complete and perfect wholeness.

Thankful for your prayers,

Doug Marsh

National Director Royal Rangers

John P. Overton - 1945-2008

John Overton

Dear Royal Rangers Family:

It is with great sadness that we wish to inform you that on Sunday evening, June 22nd at around 9:30 pm, New York District Commander John P. Overton went to be with the Lord. Commander John had suffered a heart attack while at his home in Amherst, NY. He will be deeply missed.

John was one of the longest-standing district commanders in our nation, having served for the past 21 years (1987-2008). He was the recipient of the Royal Rangers district commander’s “Silver Eagle Award” 18 times. Prior to becoming district commander, John served as district training coordinator and served in Royal Rangers at his home church, Evangel A/G (Outpost 66) in Buffalo.

John served his country in both the U.S. Air Force and Army Reserves. He was chosen as NY District Honor Bound “Man of the Year” in 2005. John had a great love for God, his family and his country. His combined love for the outdoors and for the souls of boys compelled him serve in the Royal Rangers ministry for all these years. John’s vision was to see boys won for Christ and to have a camp facility in New York State were boys from across the district can come and enjoy God’s creation while learning more about our Savior, Jesus. This vision began with the Royal Rangers Camp in Greene, NY, in 2000.

Royal Ranger Missionaries to Africa - the Whitman family

The Whitman Family: A family of four: Andy, Stacey, Madison (9), Spencer (6)

Fully Appointed Assemblies of God World Missionaries: Appointed to Missions in 1996, ordained in 2005

Where we have served:

Starting in 1998, we served as missionaries in the Balkans to the country of to Macedonia. Macedonia, formerly part of Yugoslavia in Eastern Europe, broke away and became a nation in 1991. Macedonia was the least evangelized country in Europe with a blend of Orthodox Macedonians, Muslim Albanians and Gypsies. Skopje, the capital, has the largest settled Gypsy population in the world. The Evangelical Christian population is less than 1 tenth of 1%. During our terms in Macedonia, we were involved in refugee work, started Royal Rangers, ministered to young Christian converts from the Muslim faith and witnessed to our neighbors. We were also able to work in the neighboring countries of Albania, Bulgaria, and Kosovo.
